Real Homes: Period Living Readers' Choice Award

Voting is currently open in the Period Living Readers Choice Award and this early 1700s thatched stone cottage has got my vote! It took this cottage’s owners nearly a year to buy the property but they persevered, intent on living in the beautiful Irish thatched cottage. The Period Living judges were impressed by their passion for the project and willingness to learn as they worked. With only basic electricity in a couple of rooms and no running water at the start, it took time and dedication to bring the building back to life. Finding hidden gems made all the hard work worthwhile and I love the finished product; sympathetic to the original property throughout, I particularly love the rustic finish in the bathroom.
