I just wanted to write a short post to say happy sunny Sunday to everyone! I’m so aware that I have been blogging a lot less than I would like at the moment – it’s really hard as the business has been taking up almost all my time.

We are at such a crucial stage on the latest development that my focus has to be 100% on that and searching for the next opportunity, but I’m missing my writing and my fix of pretty things! As my regular readers will know, I have a mild obsession with blue and white ceramics and today spotted these gorgeous pictures of a simple Scandinavian kitchen with a great collection of blue and white accessories, so had to share it with you.

My aim for the next few weeks is to try and get back on top of things and be able to blog more so please watch this space!

This morning I’m in the mood for a bit of Scandinavian style. I am dreaming about a home with original parquet floors, it’s been firmly on my wishlist for a long time now and I hope that one day when lifting a tired carpet in a property we’re working on, I will find some perfect parquet smiling up at me! In the meantime I will have to daydream and these images of a beautiful apartment in Sweden are the perfect parquet porn! It runs throughout the whole apartment, excpet the kitchen, linking all the rooms together beautifully and emphasising the sense of space. If you could choose just one original feature for you home, what would it be?

I hope you have a lovely week – I’m off to the Masterpiece Fair in a minute, which I’m really looking forward to.

Enjoy the sunshine!

After a gorgeous weekend spent mainly pottering in the garden or relaxing on the common with P and Coco, I couldn’t believe the bleak winter weather we were greeted with once again this morning. It really was back to work with a thud…at 8am I was waiting in the rain for the dump to open before heading off to a site meeting, also outdoors in the rain! I’m now back and trying to distract myself from this weather with beautiful interiors and warmth. These images are doing the trick – as you know I adore Scandinavian design and for me there’s no better pick-me-up than browsing through pictures like these. The use of wood throughout this apartment really helps bring the outdoors in and gives it lovely, homely feel.

Enjoy and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Despite the fact that Spring still seems to be slightly evading us, the sun is out this morning attempting to mask the freezing temperatures! In a bid to further trick myself that we really are over the worst of the winter, I have decided to post some gorgeous and very Spring-like images from the portfolio of interiors stylist Hilary Robertson. I absolutely adore her style – the soft pastel colours, the large wooden shutters and wooden floors all create such a romantic mood and it’s really managed to lift my spirits. I hope it does the same for you!

Those of you who have been reading the blog for a little while will know that I love to work with a soft, pale backdrop. I love the calmness of white and other pale neutrals on walls and ceilings, soft woods or natural colours for floors and then colour can be added in splashes with rugs, cushions and the odd statement piece of furniture. It will be no surpise to you therefore that I love these images of an uber stylish Danish apartment. Calming and inspiring all in one!
