This week I want to share a stunning ranch in a remote part of Wales where you can really get away from it all this winter. The modern home comforts combine with the breathtaking scenery to make this a truly unique opportunity from the lovely Unique Homestays. After a long day out walking you can relax in the luxurious bath enjoying the amazing views, before cosying up by the fire for the evening with a glass or two of red wine….utter heaven!

This week’s home away from home is the stunning Artists’ Beach House, a detached clapperboard house built in 1906. Opening onto Tankerton Beach, the property is spectacularly situated in a quiet corner of the attractive and fashionable fishing port of Whitstable on the North Kent coast.

The beach house has been sensitively modernised keeping the original tongue and groove in the kitchen and all the original arts and crafts detailing throughout, including the carved settles by the open fireplace and the galleried staircase. The interior décor reflects the beach location. Inside the house are collected treasures, books and art works including the ‘swimmers’ mosaic by a local artist in the bathroom. It looks really beautiful and very unique, another great find from Cornish based company Unique Homestays

This week’s Home Away From Home is the absolutely delightful Fish Store set in the beautiful Cornish village of Mousehole, somewhere I’m been longing to visit since I first heard its name a few years ago. Dylan Thomas referred to as the ‘Prettiest Village in England’, something that it looks to live up to if these pictures are anything to go by.

The house has been beautifully renovated throughout keeping original features whilst adding some modern touches to make comfort equally important as charm. Enjoy stunning coastal views from this converted industrial building; loft style living at its best! The house has five bedrooms so there’s plenty or space to fill it with family and friends. For more information or to book please visit Unique Homestays
