I have been fairly quiet over the past few months – working away behind the scenes on the blog’s new look, our new house, as well as a new website for interior design.

I have been getting more and more enquiries over the last year or so, which is very flattering, so I thought it time to take the plunge and put a portfolio website together online – the result is LBM Design Studio – I really hope you like it!

To celebrate the launch thought I would take a little trip down memory lane with you. Over the coming weeks I will share pictures of some of the rooms I have enjoyed designing the most as well as some of the rooms that have resonated most online, being shared on sites like Houzz and Pinterest.

First up is this lovely master bedroom in Battersea. It was one of the first projects I worked on and I loved this space so much – the striking wallpaper from Tapet Cafe, combined with Cornforth White paint from Farrow & Ball worked well together to create a lovely calming palette and a serene, elegant space. A calming colour palette is the basis of all bedrooms that I design – I really feel they should always be a luxurious sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house.

The Vogue print in the picture above was a personal commission – I asked my talented friend Buzzy to paint it for me and he has since been asked to recreate it a few times after people have spotted it on Pinterest. I think it has been saved over 20,000 times in total, which is just amazing!

I hope you like this selection of images – if you want to recreate a look similar to this in your home, then sign up for blog updates or follow me on instagram, as I will be sharing a ‘Get the Look’ post here soon!

Moving house! One of the most stressful things you can do and though Patrick and I do it more often than most, but despite that, nothing prepares you for the mental and physical chaos that ensues once you start to take your home apart and nothing is where it should be any more!

Whenever we move home it reminds me how much I need and appreciate all my things surrounding me and in being their proper place. Having your own little sanctuary away from the busy outside world is so important and I also like to create a sanctuary within that sanctuary; our bedroom.

The rest of our house can be colourful or chaotic, but our bedroom is always a soothing calm space. I always choose cool, serene colours when working on the design. I love to create a space that you walk into and relax the moment your toes hit the lovely soft carpet – and a big part of that feeling for me is the scent.

So I was thrilled when Molton Brown launched their new Home & Linen Mists a couple of months ago as an addition to their gorgeous home scent range and for our bedroom I chose Orange & Bergamot to lift the spirits with the beautiful scent of an orange grove.

I love to layer scents and this range is perfect for that – I spritz our sheets with the linen spray before ironing them and then again each night before bed. There is nothing more indulgent that softly fragrant freshly ironed sheets!

I also like to light the candle when I come to bed in the evening – whilst I potter, take my make up off and tidy up, the room gets gently scented and I always try to read for at least 30 minutes before going to sleep with the candle still burning.

When I’m fully relaxed and my eyes are struggling to stay open, I blow out the candle and fall into a lovely deep sleep. Well most of the time anyway!

I am thrilled to have been nominated for the Amara Interior Blog Awards 2016.

Happy Easter Monday!

What a gorgeous sunny day – I can’t wait to get outside and tackle gardening that I’ve been putting off until the sun starts to shine for Spring. Before I head outdoors I just wanted to quickly share a small obsession of mine at the moment – linen bed linen! The perfect way to freshen up you bedroom for Spring, they are so soft to the touch and also create a lovely relaxing vibe to the room – a real contrast to the crisp white Egyptian cotton that we usually have on our bed.

I’m lusting after these two sets by Designers Guild which would work well individually or using a mixture of the two colours. Urbanara also have a great selection of colours in their collection, as well as a gorgeous selection of children’s bed linen, so you can update their bedroom with a gorgeous new look for Spring too.

Enjoy your Easter Monday and see you again soon.

Now that the clocks have changed and the Autumn nights are starting to draw in, I feel an overwhelming sense of cosiness. I love this time of year; crisp sunny days, beautiful autumnal colours, cashmere jumpers and our cosy winter duvet!

I’ve been browsing online looking for a new bed linen set – it’s our second wedding anniversary in a few weeks and the theme for this year is cotton. The perfect excuse for some new Egyptian cotton! I stumbled across the M&S Home Autumn/Winter look book and am totally smitten with the beautiful selection of cosy winter colours and designs. Usually I’m drawn to lighter fresher styles, but some of the dark sets have really captured my imagination – maybe time to re-paint our bedroom black?!

Which set would you choose?
