Room Tour: Bright, Scandinavian Style Kitchen

I've been meaning to start a 'Room Tour' and 'Home Tour' section on the blog for a while now - the plan would be to share tours of rooms we've renovated and updated and also share a pick of other beautiful rooms and homes that I've come across while browsing the internet and magazines.

First up I am sharing this stunning kitchen designed by fellow blogger Claire, who writes The Green Eyed Girl blog. If you haven't come across it before, then you must check it out as she has impeccable taste and a beautiful home.

As you can see from these pictures, she also shares a love of fresh, light spaces. The Scandinavian influences are also something I love and use often in my designs.

Claire and her husband Will did a full renovation of their Edwardian home in Birmingham and have done the most beautiful job. The kitchen was already extended when they moved in, but it wasn't a great structure and the units were dark wood with office-style lighting. They decided to pull the whole extension down and start again (Click here for before/during renovation pictures).

Their plan was to update it, make it brighter and lighter and also create a really sociable space. They designed the kitchen with that in mind - for example putting the hob on the island so they could chat when cooking - and kept the fixtures and fittings light and bright, a total contrast to how it was before!

If you want to create a similar look in your kitchen, then check out Claire's post here.
