I am so excited to be finally sharing Lily's nursery tour with you! I can’t believe she’s almost four months old – it has literally flown by in the most lovely, sunny blur.

This summer is a time that I will never ever forget – such amazing weather and so many balmy afternoons and evenings lounging in the garden with our little one.  Memories we will always treasure :)I have really tried to take as much time out as possible – it is hard when you work for yourself and with our property development and rental business it’s been impossible to switch off totally, but with the blog and social media I have managed to take a bit of a step back, which has been blissful and needed in order to fully appreciate this special time with Lily Rose.Enough rambling, onto the nursery tour!

When I was designing this, we had no idea what the little bundle in my tummy was going to be – crazy when I think back now, but although my initial instinct was a little girl, by the end of the pregnancy I was convinced I was having a boy. So I had to make the space as gender neutral as possible – instead of going for a totally grey palette, I decided to include a mixture of primary colours, but in their pastel versions.

There are soft pinks, some blue and lots of soft green, white and grey. As I often do with my schemes, I keep them as calm as I can adding pops of colour with artwork and accessories and this room is no different. The bulk of the colour comes from the beautiful Designers Guild fabric on the blind, the blue of the Miss Behaving chair from Sofa Workshop and the colour in the gorgeous paintings by Nina Brooke and Painted by Alice.

When it came to deciding on the furniture, I already owned a chest of drawers and a little wardrobe. I had bought them a few years ago from an antique and bric-a-brac market in Dorchester thinking that they would one day be perfect for a nursery. We painted the wardrobe white using Annie Sloan paint, just to freshen it up a bit before Lily Rose’s arrival.

For the cot, I had seen this beautiful design by Cam Cam Copenhagen and fallen in love with it and the matching changing table, so knew that was the one I wanted and we worked with the lovely Anita from Anita’s house to find the perfect mattress, protector and bedding from Little Green Sheep.

I love the lattice detail on the cot and on the doors of the changing table unit, also from Cam Cam. It is so useful to be able to keep all our muslins and blankets etc neatly folded in there and be able to see them, as so many are so pretty! Especially the selection we have from Aden & Anais and Isla & Wilbur.

Above the cot we have hung two beautiful mobiles from Cam Cam Copenhagen – the swans are so elegant and pretty and the peacock we love so much that we have the grey in the nursery and the pale green on our Stokke Sleepi Mini down in the kitchen.

Some of the other accessories were bought before she was born, and others have been gifts since. Highlights include the changing basket from Oskoe, the memory suitcase from Handpicked by Kate, the handpainted play cubes from Myla & Oscar, the lightbox from A Little Lovely Company, the extra-large Jellycat bunny from The White Company and the whale bookends from Jonathan Adler.

I also knew that we wanted to include an adult bed in the room for the nights that I would potentially spend in the nursery with Lily and I love the soft curves of this daybed from La Redoute. We also ordered the faux sheepskin rug from them as it’s so super soft – we have one in our flat in London and love it.

It’s so lovely to share her nursery with you at last – it’s such a lovely, serene space to spend time. I hope you like it and it inspires those of you who have been messaging asking for nursery inspiration!
