New China Collection from Artist Alice Peto

September is one my favourite months - partly because it's my birthday month, but mainly because I always feel that there is a sense of excitement and of new things happening - perhaps the new school year has instilled that feeling in me! It's also the time of trade shows and new launches, which I absolutely love. One of my favourite launches of this Autumn is this lovely range of china that artist and illustrator Alice Peto launched this week at Decorex.
You may recognise the name, as it was Alice who drew all the gorgeous artwork for me on the blog! The idea for her collection of table and ovenware came from buying gifts for friends' weddings. She noticed the market lacked china that was bold and distinctive, yet delicate and elegant, but that could still be used everyday. Two years and countless trips to Stoke-on-Trent later, Alice's beautifully coloured and simple illustrations can be found on a range of 18 different pieces, from a fine bone china mug to a vast rectangular oven-proof dish. Each piece is dishwasher and microwave proof so can be used without fear of fading and the prices are really reasonable ranging from £14 to £40.
The collection bridges the gap perfectly between the modern and traditional, the everyday and the formal, the urban and the country - it really is lovely and judging by the reaction it was getting at Decorex, it's going to be a huge hit!
