Beautiful Bougainvillea

This week in Mallorca it has been beyond hot...the hottest summer on record I believe...not that I’m complaining, but it really is a case of from one extreme to the other!

Bougainvillea, like me, is something that is happiest basking in the warmth of the sun. Originally from South America, these beautiful plants are now seen in most hot countries around the world and if cared for correctly, can flower for most of the year. I adore them – they remind me of balmy evenings watching the sunset with a glass of chilled rose wine and as such, I believe them to be the perfect flower for styling an event where you would like to create a relaxed, Mediterranean atmosphere.

These images show that they can be used for table decoration, bouquets, as well as other details; you can mix them with other flowers or simple pop a bunch in a vase or glass for an equally stunning and stylish effect. They come in a variety of colours, from white to peach, pink and purple with lots of variations in between. Also a great way to brighten up your home, don’t you just love them?

Have a lovely sunny Bank Holiday weekend wherever you are. I’ll be mostly sipping wine under the Bougainvillea vines!
